We define the word “engaged” as being “involved”. Genuine “engagement” happens when you’re involved, when you really care about what’s happening, and when you can’t get it off of your mind!
3 Action Steps to being more engaged:
Ask God to show you where you need to spend your time, energy and passion.
This is critical! Learn to discern God’s plan for your life and your ministry, then trust Him! If you know, believe, and trust that your call is from God, you will be able to fully engage in all He has for you.
Learn to say “NO”
Other people’s opportunities aren’t necessarily YOUR opportunities. Sometimes you have to say NO in order to fully engage in what you should be focusing on. When there’s too much on your plate, you aren’t able to do anything effectively.
When you know where you’re going, be ALL there
There’s freedom that comes when things are clear and when we’re able to fully focus on the task at hand. This doesn’t mean that it’s easy, but it helps us to know where to focus, where to apply our energy, and what we should be spending our time doing. Once you determine that, DO IT! Be all there.
