As a leader, if you want to make the biggest impact possible, you must learn to:

– work with others

– empower others

– teach and share all that you know

– delegate to others

– enable others

We need to multiply ourselves in and through others.  YOU can’t do it all.

3 Action Steps to better multiplication:

  1. Surround yourself with people who want to learn!

Leading on your own is often easier:  you don’t have to wait for others, you can do things the way you like them, and there’s no one to complain.  However, you can’t do it all alone!  Learn to surround yourself with people who will learn from you and who will work with you.  Build a team.  Share your vision and your call; you’ll be able to accomplish so much more.

  1. Learn to delegate

Delegation is not simply telling others how to do things. Delegation is a process of modeling, teaching, supporting, and passing things off.  Often we delegate by giving a list of “to do’s” to a subordinate.  Delegation works when people learn all that we know and we help them to apply it and to achieve success.

  1. Find joy in others growth and success

A multiplying leader will find great joy in the successes of those who are working around you.  Sometimes it’s even better than when you did something on your own!  Learn to celebrate in others’ successes.  It’s a great feeling of satisfaction.
