RELIABLE

A Leader who cannot be relied on is a leader who no one will trust. A Leader who can’t be trusted will not be followed.
4 Action Steps to becoming more reliable:

  1. Check your commitments.

What are you committed to? What promises have you made? Start with those close to you, your family. Ask them and make a list! Then move to those you work with. Those who help you do what you do. Those you are trying to reach. Go back through your history and list out the commitments.

  2. What are you going to do about them?

Develop a plan to complete your commitments. Change your lifestyle or schedule to be what you have promised to be. Make a list of what you need to do and start developing your plan to get it done.

  3. Work it out.

If some promises can’t be kept today, work out a plan with the individual as to when you will keep it. Let them know that you remember the promise. Do not ignore any promise because it is hard. Work it out. You made the promise, now keep it.

  4. Be careful!

Be careful what promises you make because if you want to be seen as a leader, you will want people to remember them and expect you to keep them. If you are not reliable, you can damage all the work that God is trying to do through you. You can actually make Him look bad!
